Alhaji Dauda inspects bridge over River Tano
Mehame (B/A), April 8, GNA Alhaji Collins Dauda, the Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, has inspected a bailey bridge under construction over River Tano to link Mehame and Dadiesoaba in the Asutifi South District. The Minister also inspected work on a Triple 18 Type Culvert also being constructed as part of the project. The nine-kilometre road had been a source of concern for the people because the river over-flowed its banks, making the road impassable anytime it rained heavily, particularly in the rainy season. Before the arrival of the Minister and his entourage, the place had been besieged by enthusiastic people from all walks of life, and despite that it was a Saturday, most farmers within the two communities volunteered to make the day a holiday to meet the Minister who is also Member of Parliament (MP) for the area. Addressing them and the workers who were busily working, Alhaji Dauda expressed satisfaction about work so far done and assured that any difficulties and stresses encountered by both road travelers and drivers, especially in the rainy season would soon become a thing of the past. The Minister said as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and Sector Minister he would confer with the leadership and people of the two communities concerning provision of a new and proper bridge to make transportation to either side of the two towns safer and convenient.GNA
