Accra, March 9, GNA - An international Gospel Concert to commemorate Ghana’s 60th anniversary celebration, has been held at the Black Star Square in Accra.
The event was graced with live performances by musicians such as Don Moen- American singer, pastor and producer of Christian worship songs, Sonni Badu- international gospel artiste, amongst several others.
Pastor Josh Laryea, renowned gospel artiste and a member of the organising committee of the programme, told the Ghana News Agency that the concert was organised by the African Media Core, a group of pastors, who felt the need to have a national thanks giving for the goodness of God to the country.
He said there was the need to show appreciation to God, for seeing the nation through 60 years, without any major setbacks.
Pastor Laryea said it was also worth being appreciative to God for a successful election because that was not the case with a number of other countries.
A large number of people from different walks of life, thronged the venue to have a feel of the occasion, with most of them dancing and making merry into the wee hours of the night.
The concert formed part of several entertainment activities planned for Ghana’s 60th independence anniversary celebrations.
