Sunyani, March 29, GNA - Mr Stephen Yeboah, a teacher at the Seventh Day Adventist Basic and Junior High School in Sunyani, on Tuesday appealed to parents to monitor what their children watched on television.
He was unhappy that some social programmes showed on television channels influenced and impeded the proper upbringing and development of school children.
Mr Yeboah made the appeal when he addressed students, parents and teachers of the school at a durbar to climax the school’s education week celebration in Sunyani.
He observed that because of the programmes some of the children watched in homes, they exhibited certain behaviour in schools, which if not checked could destroy their future.
Mr Yeboah emphasised that without collaborative support of parents, it would be difficult for teachers alone to mould the children to become morally upright.
He asked parents to endeavour to pay regular visits, and find out the academic performance and the behaviour of their children in the schools.
