Accra, May 10, GNA - Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has released the final 21-man squad of the Black Starlets for the upcoming 2017 Confederation of the Africa Football (CAF) U-17 Total African Cup of Nation (AFCON) to be held in Gabon.
The biennial youth tournament would commence on May 14-28, with eight teams fighting for the ultimate trophy.
The 2017 U-17 AFCON is the 12th edition of the Tournament.
The Starlets are in group A alongside Hosts Gabon, Cameroon and Guinea.
Group B is made up of Tanzania, Angola, Mali and Niger.
The semi-finalists would qualify to represent Africa at the World Youth Championship in India from October 6-28.
The Black Starlets would open their campaign against Cameroon on Sunday, May 14 at the Stade de POG in Port Gentile, Gabon.
Coach Fabin named three goal keepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders and three strikers.
They are, Goalkeepers: Danland Ibrahim (Asante Kotoko), Kwame Aziz (Mandela Soccer Academy), Michael Acquaye (WAFA).
Defenders: Najeeb Yakubu (New Town Youth), Abdul Razak Yusuf (FC Tanga), Gideon Acquah (Accra United FC), John Otu (Dreams FC), Edmund Arko Mensah (Wa All Stars), Faisal Osman (Kumasi Young Vipers FC), Bismark Terry Owusu (Mandela Soccer Academy) and Kinsley Owusu (Dreams FC).
Midfielders: Isaac Antah (Accra Young Wise), Idrissu Mohammed (Cheetah FC), Gabriel Leveh (Tema Youth), Sulley Ibrahim (New Life FC), Emmanuel Toku (Cheetah FC), Samuel Mone Andoh (Zein United) and Rasheed Alhassan (Aduana Stars FC)
Strikers: Eric Ayiah (Charity Stars), Kwadwo Opoku (Attram D'Visser) and Patmos Arhin (Mandela Soccer Academy).
