Sackey fails to get the nod of Upper West Akyem Assembly

Adeiso (E/R), May 11, GNA – Mr. Eugene Sackey, nominated by the President, as the Upper West Akyem District Chief Executive (DCE), has failed to get the approval of the assembly.

He could not secure the mandatory two-thirds majority vote at the assembly’s emergency meeting held at Adeiso.

He polled 21 votes out of the total of 38 cast, which was five short of what he needed to be deemed confirmed.

He, however, has another chance as the assembly would be voting again in less than two weeks to determine his fate.
