Accra, March 05, GNA - Eric Ofori -Antwi, Medeama Sporting Club goalie has said that, he is confident of Aduana Stars chances in this year’s edition of the Confederation of Africa (CAF) Champions League.
Aduana Stars are the only Ghanaian club left in any of the African Club competitions this year, following the elimination of Asante Kotoko from the CAF Confederations Cup in the first round.
The ‘Ogya Boys’ would host Algerian side Entente Sportive de Sétif (ES Setif) for the first leg at the Dormaa Nana Agyeman Badu I park on Wednesday at 1500 hours.
Speaking to the GNA Sports, Ofori-Antwi rallied for support for the Dormaa based side, adding that it was not about Aduana Stars anymore.
“We cannot leave this for Aduana alone, because this is not about them but it’s about Ghana. They are the only club left and they are representing Ghana. We have to pray for them and wish them the best of luck,” he said.
Ofori Antwi noted that Aduana would go far in the competition.
“I am confident they (Aduana Stars) can do well in the competition. We played them last year and they have a lot of quality. And I know they have made additions to the team as well. We are solidly behind them and I am sure they will beat the Algerians convincingly on Wednesday.”
