Accra, Oct 16, GNA – Justice William Atuguba, a retired Supreme Court Judge, has said the Muslim Community in Ghana is at peace with all other religious bodies in the country.
He said Muslims, therefore, play a very fundamental role in the unity and stability of the nation.
Justice Atuguba was speaking at a reception organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission of Ghana to honour Sir Dr Ifikar Ahmad Ayaz, the Consul General of Tuvalu in London, who was the Mission’s Keynote Speaker at its maiden Peace Conference.
The Peace Conference was the first of its kind to be organized by the Ahmadiyya on the soil of the African continent.
He urged Ghanaians Muslims to put the fear of Allah in all their undertakings to promote peace in all their endeavours.
Justice Atuguba also urged Muslims to be peaceful and just with other faith based religions to promote inter-faith dialogue.
He said Muslims in Ghana had always debunked through education and humility, the wrong speculations that Islam was about violence.
Justice Atuguba said: “whenever conflict erupts or any misunderstanding between Muslims and other religions, the Muslim leadership moves in swiftly and solves it.
He expressed the hope that Muslims would continue to share their thoughts and concerns on how to maintain peace in the communities they found themselves in.
