Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Nov. 01, GNA - The Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly is constructing a two-storey classroom block for the Nsawam Senior High School at the estimated cost of GH¢23,000.00.
The school block, comprised of an office, store room, computer laboratory, library, assembly hall with toilet and bathroom facilities.
Mr Isaac Kwadjo Buabeng, the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after a general meeting by the Assembly at Nsawam.
He said other classroom blocks were being undertaken by the Assembly at Bowkrom, Akuffokrom, and Panpanso Number One all in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern Region.
Mr Buabeng, who is also the Executive Committee Chairman of the Assembly, said plans were underway to register all lands belonging to individuals and institutions in the municipality to prevent encroachment and land litigations.
He said the move would also help the Assembly to demarcate more lands for the provision of educational structures as the population of school-going children kept increasing in the area.
“At the moment, we are considering running two streams for the Fotobi Basic School or put up an additional structure to absorb the growing population of the school children,” Mr Buabeng said.
He said the Assembly had intended to convert one of the three school buildings at Asikabew into a CHPS Compound to provide health services to the people, especially those who had to travel far to Nsawam for medical attention.
The MCE commended the Blue Skies Company, a fruit processing factory in the municipality for constructing a six-classroom block with store room and toilet facilities for the people of Asikabew.
