Koforidua (E/R), Nov. 21, GNA - Out of nearly 2,000 national service personnel posted to the New Juaben Municipality, less than 100 personnel attended the orientation and business summit organized for them by the District Secretariat.
Some personnel complained that their managers refused to allow them to attend the programme, others said they were not aware of the programme being held for them.
The Municipal National Service Secretariat (NSS) said it is responsible for the payment of the service personnel but not their various organizations and personnel must attend to their calls.
Mr Benjamin Oduro Asante, the Eastern Regional Director of the NSS, said punctuality, decent dressing and respect for leaders are the three most important things required of personnel at their various organizations.
He expressed dissatisfaction about the number of personnel present at the program, stressing that if he had his way, a roll call would be made to know personnel present.
Mr Asante said punctuality at work increases the possibilities of personnel to be maintained as permanent workers at their respective organizations.
Mrs Margaret A. Nartey, the New Juaben Municipal Directress of NSS, said the allowance forms are to be submitted on the last day of the second week of every month in order to be paid.
She said the reasons why many personnel had issues with their allowance forms were that they failed to complete them or provided wrong information required on the forms.
Mrs Nartey said when the e-zwich card used for registration gets lost, a new one could be obtained and linked up with the old one in order to receive the monthly allowance without any challenges.
She announced that personnel present at the orientation and business summit would have to pay an amount of GH¢10.00 to receive a certificate of participation.
