Jirapa (UWR), Nov 21, GNA – The Saint Francis of Assisi Old Girls Association (FOGA) has donated assorted food items including one bag of gari, two baskets of fish and loaves of bread, together with used clothing in support of the St. Joseph’s Orphanage in Jirapa, in the Upper West Region.
This was in response to an appeal for assistance made by the caregivers of the home.
Mrs Fati Bodua Seidu, the National President of FOGA, said the gesture was to help make life a bit comfortable for the underprivileged children in the “home community” of the association.
They were deeply touched by the plight of the children and had to quickly mobilize some basic necessities to soothe their situation.
Sister Matilda Z. Dery, who is in-charge of the orphanage, expressed gratitude to FOGA for the donation and said it could not have come at a better time.
She invited other philanthropic organisations and individuals to come to their aid.
She asked that all accepted to assist take care of the needy children. The orphanage is home to 17 children.
