Wa, Jan 3, GNA - The Head Pastor of Revival Assembly of the Assemblies of God Church in Wa, Reverend Robert Akolbugri, has led hundreds of worshippers to pray for the family of late Rev. David Nabegmado who killed in cold blood last Sunday.
Rev Nabegmado who was the Pastor for Tema Community Four Central Assemblies of God Church was stabbed while preparing to deliver a sermon in the morning.
The alleged murderer was reported by the police to have inflicted multiple stabbings between the Pastor’s head and neck.
The suspect is believed to be the Pastor’s nephew by name Francis Nabegmado.
Rev Akolbugri who is also the Upper West Regional Superintendent of Assemblies of God Church led large crowd of worshippers on 31st December 2018 watch night service to pray for peace and comfort for the bereaved family.
“He is no more with us not because you are better, if it was about money he might have money more than all of us and he could have gone to better hospitals to seek for healthcare,” he said, in reference to the late Pastor.
“I express my heartfelt condolence to the family of the late Revered Dr. David Nabegmado who passed away due to tragic circumstances,” he added, “God keep the family”.
Speaking on the theme: “The Grace of God upon His Church,” he indicated Christians should begin to rejoice in 2019, as the grace of God would impact significantly in their lives.
Rev Akolbugri said the Church in 2019, it would operate on the theme: “My Year of divine increase”, in line with bearing the fruit of the spirit.
He said the Church would move into areas of the region where the Gospel has not been heard to rescue perishing souls.
He also raised concern about corruption in the country and said it was quite unfortunate the country was still riddled with corrupt practices in offices and homes despite majority of the people being Christians.
“It is very sad that honesty has been thrown to the dogs in our moral fabric,” he said: “I urge you all members in this New Year to be honest in all your dealings, no short cut or underhand dealings and wait and see how God would elevate you”.
The Pastor also urged the Christians to be responsible citizens and keep their environment safe, especially during the harmattan season, and avoid bush burning.
