Michel Camp, (GAR), Jan. 17, GNA - Residents around the Michel Camp Base Armoury Depot (BAD) have been advised to relocate to safer places.
Brigadier General Obed Acquach, Chief of Defence Staff, briefing the media after inspecting the armoury base after the explosives, said residents around the armoury base must consider relocating to safer places
The Chief of Defence Staff assured residents that the military will commence investigation immediately to ascertain the cause of the fire and explosion
He further cautioned that, if residents came across strange materials or objects believed to be explosives they must report to the Michel Camp military base and not must not attempt to touch it.
Mr Anthony Nukpenu Assembly Member for the Kakasunaka Number One Electoral Area, said the incidence could have been deadly had it not been for the timely intervention of the Ghana National. Fire Service.
He added that two households were affected by the debris from the explosives adding that" It penetrated a wooden structure and damaged another roof sheet. "
Uneasy calm hovers over the various communities with residents moving around doing their normal duties
