Tease (E/R), March 20, GNA – The Afram Community Bank Limited has offered scholarship to 10 students in the Afram Plains to improve the educational level there in line with its policy to give back to society.
The scholarship was to help the needy but brilliant students to continue with their education at the Senior High School level and become assets to their communities.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Tease in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District of the Eastern Region, Mr Kwao Mensah Jones, the Head of Credit of the Bank, said plans were underway to support other students at the tertiary level.
He said the Bank’s prime objective was to support community development by providing potable water and other basic services.
Mr Kwao said it had also donated laptops, furniture and re-furbished the District's Ghana Education Service Office and the Magistrate’s Court to create an enabling environment for the staff.
To ensure effective service delivery and welfare of security personnel, Mr Kwao said his outfit furnished the District Office of the Ghana Police Service and donated printers to aid their administrative work.
He gave the assurance that the Bank would continue to be of great help to the communities to create good interpersonal relationship with them.
