Accra, March 24, GNA - The Accra Mall, Ghana’s first large-scale mall, has launched a new loyalty club, dubbed: “Family Club,” to give families better and exciting shopping experience.
The launch, which took place at the Mall on Saturday, treated parents and children to fun activities including bouncy castle, face painting, board games and a trampoline.
Members of the public who visited the Mall were registered and given membership cards to enable them to obtain special offers and discounts, free gifts, magazines and the opportunity to participate any event at the shopping centre.
It registered more than 200 families to join the Club.
Ms Denise Asare, the Marketing Manager of Accra Mall, encouraged more families to register to join the Club.
“This club is our way of rewarding all our loyal customers and encouraging families to visit the mall often. We have exciting family club activities scheduled throughout the year and we look forward to hosting as many families as possible,” she said.
The Family Club members would also receive first-hand information on any promo or activities that would take place at the Mall.
“We don’t want our customers to just come and shop but to have an experience and feel as part of an exclusive club or family that is concerned about their welfare.”
Answering whether the Mall was unsecured in the midst of other malls springing up in Accra, Ms Asare said: “Yes, we are sharing our markets with other malls but that just means that the development of Ghana is moving forward.”
“There are now more jobs for people to do. We are competing, but still we are the most visited Mall and number one”.
She explained that a card could accommodate a family of two adults and up to six children, adding that it was open and free to all parents, grandparents, step parents, guardians, with children under age 16.
She advised families to visit the Mall’s website - www.accramall.com - for registration.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, some families who had been registered with the Club expressed satisfaction by the Mall to reward loyal customers.
Mrs Davidson, a customer, said: “I am very excited about the discounts my membership card will afford me at selected stores. My children have also had a good time today because of all the fun activities Accra Mall has provided. I look forward to participating in all the family club activities this year”.
The Accra Mall, commissioned on July 4, 2008, is one of the most modern western style shopping centres in West Africa and the first large-scale mall in Ghana. It has a retail space of 20,322 square metres with parking for over 900 cars.
It is anchored by South African giants; Game and Shoprite, and accommodates over 70-line shops, a radio station, a five-hall cinema and 11 restaurants of which 30 per cent are operated by Ghanaian retailers.
