Sunyani, April 17, GNA - The Women’s Ministry of Mid-West Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventists (SDA) has presented food items worth GH¢5,000.00 to inmates at the Sunyani Central Prisons.
Both male and female inmates received toiletries, bags of rice, bags of sugar, tins of milo, oil, milk, sanitary pads, washing powders, as well as tooth paste, brushes and other consumables.
Mrs Lydia Abrafi Nsiah, the Women’s Director said scriptures enjoined Christians to show love in deeds and care for the vulnerable, homeless and needy in society.
She advised the inmates to put on good behaviour and obey the word of God so that their reintegration into society after serving their sentences would be possible.
The Reverend Deputy Superintendent of Prisons (DSP) Gideon Ndebugri, the Chaplain at the Central Prisons expressed appreciation to the donors and appealed for more of such donations for the upkeep of the inmates.
He said the Prison was putting up a church building, but the project had become standstill due to lack of funds and appealed to the general public to come to their aid.
