Accra, June 12, GNA - Mr. Lawrence Ofosu-Adjare, a National Chapters Committee (NCC) chairmanship aspirant has said, executives of the NCC and the Regional Chapters Committee (RCC), would undergo training to be well-equipped in supporters mobilization, when given the nod.
The NCC would go to the polls on Saturday, June 22, at the Civil Services Auditorium in Accra and elect new executives to lead the supporters group.
Mr. Ofosu-Adjare has tasked himself to ensure the executives of the National and Regional committees are trained for capacity building in effective supporter’s leadership.
He told the GNA Sports in an interview that, "it is important the executives are well vexed in modern football industry and administration to be exposed into the regiment of football".
The astute health administrator said his ambition to lead the supporters' group was grounded on bridging the gap between the supporters and management of Accra Hearts of Oak.
He said, "my mission is simple. It is to increase the voice of the supporters in the club by creation of Chapters Trust that is going to mobilize all the resources in terms of human, financial and other resources for the club and this mission will take the supporters from being stakeholders to shareholders in the club.
"This ambition is well grounded and motivated because that’s the desire of the supporters and it can be reality because it's been done elsewhere in the European clubs. By achieving this, there would be a structured dialogue with the management. There will be supporters and management meeting in a formal manner so that a high range of issues affecting both the club and the supporters are discussed."
According to him, there would be effective information flow between the club and the supporters for effective communication, where the two parties and other stakeholders would meet for decision making.
This according to him, would serve as motivation to the supporters because they would be working together with the management.
He said he would ensure that, the management of one of the biggest football clubs in Ghana would understand the pertinent issues confronting their supporters.
On the election, Ofosu- Adjare, currently the Ist Vice President of the NCC remains confident the delegates would vote to enable him carry out his policies for the club.
About 500 delegates are expected to cast their votes on Saturday.
