Abdul Mumin Saeed 30, and Abubakar Sadik Saeed 32, are said to have stolen four cattle valued at GH¢ 12, 400.00 from a ranch and assaulted owners of the animals.
They pleaded not guilty and would reappear before the court on June 28, this year for hearing.
Their two accomplices are on the run and the police have mounted a hunt for them.
Police Chief Inspector Timothy Amoako, told the court presided over by Mrs. Lydia Osei- Marfo that the complainants are cattle owners at Pakyi No.1, while the accused persons were residents of Pakyi No. 2.
He said in recent times thieves have been stealing cattle at Pakyi No.1 and efforts to halt their activities have been unsuccessful.
Chief Inspector Amoako said about a month ago, one of the complainants Malik Abugri, detected theft of four cattle from his ranch.
He said on May 06, this year, at about 0240 hours, a witness in the case who also owns some cattle at pakyi No.1, woke up to urinate and suddenly saw a young boy loitering around his ranch.
He became suspicious and arrested the young boy.
The prosecution said upon interrogation, the boy revealed that he was sent by the accused persons to spy on the cattle in the ranch to see if they could break in and steal some of the animals.
Inspector Amoako said the complainants made a report to the Pakyi police who led the boy to arrest the culprits but could not get them.
The Prosecution said later in the day, the accused persons went to the house of one of the complainants and assaulted him for accusing them of theft.
The accused persons from there, reported themselves to the police who arrested them and after further investigations charged them with the offence.
