Ho (V/R), June 12, GNA - Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Secretary, National Democratic Congress (NDC), has observed that the Party remained the pacesetter for continued development in the region.
He said landmark projects initiated and completed by the NDC was a tall list without, which many social amenities would have eluded the people.
Mr Gunu said this during events marking the NDC’s 27th anniversary celebration themed, "Revitalising the NDC for victory 2020: Targeting Effective Branch Organisation, in Ho.
He said the NDC under the former President Rawlings, executed major facelift projects in the region including; the Regional Hospital now, Ho Teaching Hospital, the Keta sea defense project, many district hospitals, several water and electrification projects as well as roads.
Mr Gunu said others during late President J. E. A. Mills era included; the University of Health and Allied Sciences with former President John Mahama superintending over the building of the Ho central market, the aerodrome and several E-Blocks, Sogakope District Hospital, rural electrification projects ,roads and the provision of potable water.
He said those development projects made "the NDC the best legacy former President Jerry John Rawlings had left for the region...,” for which reason the region was loyal to NDC.
He said the former President’s legacy of the NDC continued to make him a hero and toast of the Party and region.
