Bawku (U/E), June 13, GNA - Mr Albert Kofi Owusu, General Manager (GM) of the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Wednesday said the Agency is putting in place strong strategic plans to ensure that its clients get the best of service in the media landscape.
He said the Agency, as part of the measures, would go full swing digital and make maximum use of every available resource, including the use of new module, reliable and fast internet hubs and applications to speed up stories to end users.
Mr Owusu made this known when he paid a two-day working visit to the Upper East Region to take inventory of the Agency’s assets in preparation for the new phase lift management hopes to give the Agency.
The GM said he had the blessings of the Agency’s Management Board to go all out and adopt the best of strategies to reshape the wire service to ensure that it becomes more relevant and assume its rightful position in the media landscape in the country.
Mr Owusu, who visited the Bawku Municipal Office, which is one of the Agency’s designated offices in the country and the Regional Office in the Regional capital, Bolgatanga, said the Agency would execute the plan and maintain the traditional tenets, which include accuracy, speed, fairness and unbiased information dissemination for the consumption of the Ghanaian community in particular, and the world at large.
At Bawku, Mr Owusu assured the Bawku Municipal Assembly of the Agency’s readiness to support its activities through publicity, adding that, the Agency is prepared to collaborate with the Assembly to make it visible for the overall development of the Municipality.
Alhaji Mohammed Issahaku, Coordinating Director for the Bawku Municipal Assembly, who received the GM on behalf of the MCE, Hajia Hawa Ninchemah, assured Mr Owusu of the Assembly’s support and cooperation, since both parties had a common objective to help bring development to the people.
Commenting on the security situation in the area, Alhaji Issahaku said peace had returned to the area, adding that, socio-economic activities were booming as the residents now lived in peace with one another.
At Bolgatanga, Mr Owusu encouraged the staff to fully participate in every activity management rolled out to ensure that the new module, meant to achieve the objectives of the Agency, was successfully pursued and achieved.
