Ejisu (Ash) June 17, GNA – Leaders of churches and other religious organisations have been urged to show greater concern about the increasing acts of indiscipline and immorality among the youth and design effective evangelization strategies to stop it.
Reverend Father Stephen Asante Barkoe, Parish Priest of St. Anthony Catholic Church, who made the call, said the increasing acts of armed robbery, hooliganism, drug abuse, prostitutions, kidnapping and others among the youth in the country in recent times, was worrying.
Religious leaders therefore, have greater responsibility to intensify their teachings and evangelism of the word of God to help the youth to desist from all forms of immoral acts and live responsible lives.
Rev. Fr. Barkoe was preaching the homily to climax the Holy Eucharistic week celebration of the parish at Ejisu, on Sunday.
He said one best way to get the youth stay away from immoral acts was to help them get very close to God by continuously praying and studying the scriptures.
Rev. Fr Barkoe appealed to the youth to strive to change their ways and rather, put their talents and energies into profitable ventures to enable them contribute meaningfully to the building of the country.
He charged parents to train their children with the word of God and educate them to fear Him at all times and not to depart from the word of God.
