Accra, July 12, GNA – Brighter Investment, a Canadian Financial Services, has rolled-out modalities to provide financial support for 1,000 Ghanaian students across eight tertiary institutions this year.
In a statement signed by Mr Thijs Mathot, the Chief Executive Officer, Brighter Investment and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, said the support will cover tuition and accommodation as well as living expenses for beneficiaries.
The support is targeted at high school leavers, university undergraduates and master’s students in science and business-related programmes.
Students must earn between aggregates six and 16 in WASSCE or a first or upper class at the university to qualify for the support.
“In addition to financing the university education of beneficiaries, Brighter Investment runs a high-impact mentorship programme that is geared at ensuring the academic and professional success of recipients,” it added.
The mentorship programme currently has over 200 students and 130 industry professionals aboard and hopes to expand its scope in the coming months.
The statement said with over 40 graduates and 172 students have been supported in the last four years, with positive outcomes.
Brighter Investment is currently receiving applications for the 2019/2020 academic year.
