Accra, Nov 14, GNA - KOSMOS Energy has presented a cheque for GHC¢20,000.00 to support the Ghana Journalists Association's (GJA) 24th Awards Night, to reward outstanding journalists to climax its 70th Anniversary celebration.
The ceremony will be held in Accra, on Saturday, November 23.
Mr Joe Mensah, Senior Vice-President, KOSMOS Energy, who made the presentation, said journalists played an important role in the nation's development by bringing to the public domain the important things that happened across the nation.
He said over the past six years, in line with the organisation's culture, it had been supporting the GJA, which it considered a key partner,
He advised media practitioners to give of their best in their respective fields, saying success could not be achieved in a vacuum but through hardwork, discipline and team work.
Mr Affail Monney, President of the GJA, expressed his appreciation on behalf of the Association, and commended them for their consistent support.
He said many institutions had benefitted from the works of Journalists but had failed to show due appreciation.
He used the opportunity to congratulate Mr Joe Mensah on his recent elevation to the position of Senior Vice-President, KOSMOS Energy and the Head of the Ghana Unit.
Mr Monney stated that the best of the best would be awarded in the impending awards ceremony and urged other institutions to emulate KOSMOS’ kind gesture.
