Hiawu-Besease, (Ash), Dec. 06, GNA – A total of one thousand (1000) pupils from three basic schools in the Hiawu-Besease electoral area in the Atwima-Nwabiagya South Municipality have been registered onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) free of charge.
It was sponsored by an aspiring assembly member for the electoral area, Reverend Bismark Antwi Agyei.
The pupils were from the Ahodwo R/C, Hiawu-Besease M/A, and Methodist junior high schools.
Rev. Agyei told the Ghana News Agency that, the gesture was part of his assistance towards the promotion of health and other social interventions to improve the lives of the people in the community.
He said plans were ongoing to collaborate with an NGO to construct an ICT laboratory for schools in the community and also upgrade the CHPS compound into a clinic.
Rev. Agyei appealed to the government to complete a road project in the area which had been abandoned for some time now.
