Tema, Dec. 17, GNA - Voting at the Tema Presec polling centres delayed due to voters ignorance and subsequent agitation on the creation of an additional polling centre.
Aspirants for the Dzata-gon electoral area said they were not informed about the creation of a new polling centre and therefore demanded for an explanation from the Returning Officer.
There are four aspirants on the ballot paper but only one of them agreed to the newly created centre while the remaining three objected to it.
Mr Felix Sobre, the aspirant who was in favour, said "it's a nice idea since this will help shorten the long queue".
Meanwhile, the rest of the three aspirants claimed it was planned to favour the one as according to them, they did not have the code for the new centre.
The Deputy Returning Officer, Mr Moro, therefore halted voting at the newly created centre while voting progressed smoothly in the three other centres.
He added that the register would not be opened until the Returning Officer visited the centre to explain to the aspirants to avoid confusion.
He also stated that there were no screens, stamps for the new centre.
