Accra, Dec. 17 GNA - The District Level Elections (DLE), to elect Assembly and Unit Committee members have commenced nationwide.
The Ghana News Agency (GNA) Journalists deployed to the 31,851 polling stations across the country reported that in majority of the centres polls begun and people have formed queues to cast their ballots.
In majority of polling stations in the Greater Accra Region, including; Korley Klottey, Odododiodoo, Ablekuma North, West and South, Ayawaso East, North and West Wagon, voting was on going at the time of the visits.
Similarly, reports from various polling stations in the Central Region such as the Anomabo Catholic Primary ‘A’ and ‘B’, and Ahmadiyya Basic School ‘A’ in Cape Coast indicate that the people are freely casting their ballots.
GNA’s Eastern Regional Team reports that the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and the First Lady Rebecca Akufo Addo, have cast their ballots at the Rock of Ages polling station Kyebi in the Eastern Region.
The President and his wife arrived at the polling station at 0710 hours and went through the process to cast their ballot to elect an Assembly Member for the Kyebi Newtown electoral area.
In the North East Region, the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was one of the early voters to have cast his ballot at the Kperiga District Assembly School polling station in Walewale.
The DLE are held every four years to elect members to the Assembly and Unit Committees
