Accra, Dec. 17, GNA – The First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, said there is the need to deepen children’s interest and engagement in creative arts to help develop their cognitive skills and creativity for future careers.
She said it would also help open up accessibility to the diverse forms of the sector and build up formative interests towards their professional goals.
Mrs Akufo-Addo said this in Accra when pupils of the SOS Village Ghana and the Demonstration School for the Deaf in Akropong in the Eastern Region presented some paintings to her in Accra to mark the festive season.
She commended the creativity and beautiful works of the children, and said their increased engagement in creative arts could open opportunities for them and generate income and revenue for the country.
“These beautiful paintings and other artworks would be presented as gifts to the partners and donors of the Rebecca Foundation during the yuletide,” she said.
She took the opportunity to wish all children the best of the season and a Happy New year.
