Praprabeebeda (E/R), Dec. 20, GNA - A new Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound has been constructed for Praprabeebeda, a farming community in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District, by the Assembly.
The structure, which has disability-friendly features, also has an Out-Patients Department (OPD), detention ward, store room, toilet facility and residential accommodation for nurses.
Mr George Ofori, the District Chief Executive (DCE), handed over the facility to the District Health Directorate at a symbolic ceremony in the community on Friday.
He said the gesture was to help meet the health needs of the people as part of the Assembly’s broader plans and efforts to safeguard the health of the citizenry.
He urged health personnel posted to the facility to remain patient and cooperate with community members towards providing them optimal healthcare.
Ms Joana Amankwah, the District Health Director, said three health workers had been posted to the centre to start work immediately and pledged the Directorate's support to ensure proper care of the structure.
