Abesim-Sunyani, Dec. 23, GNA -The General Overseer of the Calvary Love Ministries, headquartered at Abesim near Sunyani, Apostle Kwadwo Osei Anane has advised drivers against speeding to prevent road crashes in the yuletide.
He said road crashes had become annual rituals, but the greater percentage of it resulted from human error.
Hence drivers have onerous responsibility to prevent because records from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department and the National Road Safety Authority indicated year in year out that drivers formed the higher percentage of human beings who caused the road accidents.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after a church service at Abesim, Apostle Anane said driver errors were identified as major contributory factors to road crashes, advising that drivers must thus be careful, avoid speeding and observe road signs.
“Kill your speed before your speed kills you and your passengers”, he advised, and called on the Police to also intensify night patrols on accident prone highways and check drivers against reckless driving.
Apostle Anane called on Ghanaians to promote environmental cleanliness and help in the responsible management of waste “we produce in our homes and communities” to reduce the burden of huge expenditure on waste management by government through the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies.
“Cleanliness is next to godliness, and we must therefore try as much as possible to keep our surroundings clean at all times”, he said.
Apostle Anane observed that the government was spending huge sums of money on proper waste management and therefore urged the public to shun indiscriminate dumping, of plastic waste and littering on the streets.
