Accra, Dec. 23, GNA - Mr Sammy Gyamfi, the Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Monday reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over an alleged Cyber Crime case.
This was based on an invitation extended to the Deputy Director by the CID of the Ghana Police Service.
However, the Police CID asked him to report back on Tuesday, December 24.
In brief remarks, Mr Gyamfi said that Ghana was governed by rules and laws thus, therefore, he would submit himself to the due process of law.
In his company were his team of counsels, including Mr Victor Kwadjoga and Mr Godwin Eduzie Tamakloe.
Some big wigs of the Party including Dr Hannah Bissiw, National Women’s Organiser, Mr Joshua Akamba, National Organiser, among others, joined their colleague at Ghana Police Service Headquarters.
Fans of the Party also thronged the Police Headquarters to throw their weight behind him.
The fans, some clad in red, carried placards which read: “Ghana is sitting on a timing bomb” and “Do your worse now, for NDC is coming back”.
There was tight security presence at the place with some police personnel directing vehicles and assisting pedestrians.
On Wednesday, December 18, the Cyber-crime Unit of the CID extended an invitation to the National Communications Officer of the main opposition party over an alleged cybercrime.
It was based on a complaint made to the Police by the Jubilee House.
