The Chief made the call, at the celebration of the Feok Festival of the chiefs and people of the Builsa traditional area, in Sandema, Upper East Region, organised annually to remember their forebears who fought for their sovereignty from notorious slave raiders who terrorized the area in the 19th century.
He urged all stakeholders, including; the traditional authority, parents, community leaders, religious bodies and the political community to redirect the attention of the youth from the bad practices to secure a safe future for them.
Nab Azantilow said the frequent disaster caused by rains in the area was worrying and called on government to consider establishing regional cement depots for it to be sold at factory prices, “this can move people to build stronger houses that will withstand the heavy rains and minimize the destruction of buildings”.
