Agogo, (Ash), Dec. 24, GNA – Mr Francis Oti Boateng, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asante Akim North, has cut the sod for construction to begin on the 18-kilometre Domeabra-Effiduase road to enable farmers along the stretch to bring their produce to the Agogo market.
The construction works when completed, would also help the people in the rural communities to access healthcare, banking and other social services in Agogo and other big towns in the area.
Mr Oti Boateng, speaking at the ceremony said the construction of the road would open up communities along the stretch and promote economic and social activities in the area.
It would also make it easy for the sick and pregnant women from Pekyerekye, Adiembra and other farming communities, who had difficulties in transportation, to attend hospital at Agogo and Effiduase.
Mr Oti Boateng said the government was committed to provide social amenities to open up rural communities and improve the living conditions of the people.
He called on the people to cooperate with the contractor to ensure the speedy completion of the project.
