Dormaa-Ahenkro, Dec 30, GNA - The 'Ogya boys', Dormaa based Aduana Stars FC, got off their 2019/20 premier league campaign to an excellent start, overpowering their rivals Inter Allies with a 4-0 win at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Sports Stadium in Dormaa-Ahenkro.
Striker Yahaya Mohammed's splendid performance flinged the Ogya lads into winning streak, and most importantly saw him emerge Man of the Match, had buried three goals in 13th, 18th and the 72nd minutes.
Justice Annan fetched the last goal to seal victory for the homeside in the 91st minute.
Both teams struggled and succeeded in turning the heat on each other right at the commencement of the game in the first half, making dangerous incursions upfront but a more aggressive, robust, purposeful and tactically disciplined Aduana side efforts would pay off.
In an ensuing tussle, Yahaya Mohammed's beautiful header after receiving a floating pass, saw goalkeeper Gideon Ahenkora overstretching hands in an attempt to make a desperate save but it went beyond his reach and directly into the opponent's post for Aduana's opener in the 13th minute.
The Inter Allies players appeared taller, well-built and athletic, but neither their physical nor good interpositional play, could change the dynamics of the game to contain Aduana's unrelentless onslaught - spearheaded by Yahaya Mohammed and Farouk Adams who mainly operated from the left flanks.
But poor and bad passes to Adams from the midfield made his runs down the flanks, unproductive, tiredsome and wasteful, but he quickly rectify this later and swapped positions with Yahaya briefly before recess.
An in-swinger from right full back Aduana's Isaac Kwain which found Yahaya Mohammed lurking in the penalty box, got him to tap it in again in 18th minute for Aduana's second goal.
In the 31st minute Inter Allies managed to pull one back but it was flagged offside.
Alex Aso of Inter Allies got an opportunity, in the 33rd minute when he came face to face with goalkeeper Joseph Addo but he missed narrowly as he shot the ball just wide across the bar.
Mohammed nailed his third for Aduana after a pass found him absolutely unmarked in the 18 yard box where he beautifully shot in.
Aduana's defensive machinery led by Caleb Amankwah and Abdulman Fataw performed a yeoman's job on a day, stopping the deep offensive build up into their danger terroritory, all yielding no results for Inter Allies.
Both sides had fair chances coming their way again after recess but it was Justice Anane who converted it for Aduana for a fourth goal laying a good shot at the far side of the goalkeeper that found him helpless.
No sustained pressure from Inter Allies camp five minutes into injury time, could help reverse the outcome of the game until Referee Latif Abdul Qadir whistled for the end of the match.
