Ghanaian midfielder Alhassan Wakaso can’t wait to return to the pitch when Lorient take on French giants Lyon in the French Ligue 1.
Alhassan Wakaso who is the younger brother of energetic Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso could only watch from home as his side took vital three points against Caen over the weekend.
The former Rio Ave midfielder was brought in to help Lorient survive and has already played in 10 league games since January but picked up his third yellow card in the 2-1 defeat to PSG thus was unable to play against Caen.
“I need to get back to me and play again on the pitch. That is why I am here and I can’t wait to get back on the pitch,” Wakaso said
“The team is fighting and we can’t give at this stage and obviously we are all behind the manager.”
Lorient have 28 points and any positive results against Lyon this weekend will push them out of the drop zone.
In other news Alhassan's club and country team mate Abdul Majeed Waris tied the knot to long time girl friend Habeeba Sinare.
