Executive Committee Vice Chairman of the Ghana Football Association Wilfred Osei Kweku Palmer believes Kwesi Appiah is the only local coach qualified to handle the Black Stars.
Widespread reports suggest that, the Al Khartoum coach has been reappointed as the new Black Stars coach on a two-year deal.
Speaking to Happy FM, Palmer said, “If the masses are clamouring for the man (Kwesi Appiah) to be given the job then that is what it is because by evaluation or whatever assessment we have done, if you come up with a candidate, it means that person has gone through the mill and been certified as the rightful person to assume the role.”
“Unless your judgment is wrong but under our circumstances and what we want to do as a federation he is best coach available.”
The 56-year-old trainer guided the team the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil where they failed to make it to the second round but left the position by mutual consent.
