Former Ghana Boxing Authority President Moses Foe Amoaning has asked Wilfred Osei Palmer to resign from his position as vice chairman of the Black Stars management committee following Kwesi Appiah’s reappointment as Black Stars coach.
This call comes in the aftermath of Palmer’s perpetual calls for the 6-man search committee mandated by the Ghana FA to over-look Kwesi Appiah for the Black Stars head coach position because of his past experience with the team.
Palmer had been clear in his assertion that the Black Stars need a more astute coach this time than Kwesi Appiah and Foh Amoaning holds this may create some tension between the two gentlemen who will be working closely together should Kwesi Appiah be given the nod hence it will be prudent for Palmer to resign honourably.
Speaking on Happy FM, the outspoken legal practitioner questioned if Palmer will be comfortable working with someone he has called incompetent.
“Palmer should resign because of the comments he made about Kwesi Appiah. How can you work with someone you have called incompetent? If I were Palmer, I will resign immediately. He virtually ran Kwesi Appiah down in the media and as the vice chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, it will not foster a good relationship between the two.” Foh Amoaning asserted on Happy FM.
The former Al Khartoum coach has been confirmed as the Black Stars coach on a two-year contract.
