Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah believes the introduction of new players in the team will intensify competition in the set-up.
Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah unprecedentedly handed five debutantes starting berths in Ghana's 5-0 demolishing of the Walias of Ethiopia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium fortnight ago.
And Acquah has intimated that the infusion of new faces will enliven competition in the team.
“The new players in the team is very good and it tells you there are many talents out there,” he told FootballMadeInGhana.com.
“This will make some of us who are already in the team work very hard to maintain our positions.
“It is a very good thing and I believe it will make us better.”
Acquah had to settle for a substitute role in the 5-0 win over Ethiopia.
