Life Patron of Aduana Stars Nana Agyemang Badu II has debunked allegations of bribing referees in the just ended Ghana Premier League season.
The Fire Boys won their second Ghana Premier League crown in eight years after picking 57 points in 30 games.
But some section of the league pundits believe the club were worthy title champions following accusations of referee bribing and intimidation at their home venue.
And the Paramount chief of Dormaa traditional area, who also doubles as the bankroller of the Fire Boys, Nana Agyemang Badu II, refuted those claims during an organized coronation match against Berekum Chelsea over the weekend which they won 2-1.
“I did not influence referees for league title win. I only bought quality players,” Nana Agyemang Badu II said.
“In our game against Elmina Sharks we were down by a goal in the first half, no one talked about referee after we scored two goals in the second half people started saying we were aided by the referee.
“We had good and quality players and everyone can testify that, the likes of Joseph Addo, Godfred Saka, Daniel Darkwah, Emmanuel Akuoko, Badu and the rest are top class player in Ghana.
Meanwhile Nana Agyemang Badu in fulfillment of his promise to the Club handed each and every member of the team a certificate of ownership of a plot of land and also gave out GHC100,000 to the team for their remarkable feat.
