Mubarak Wakaso makes Black Stars return after long absence

Mubarak Wakaso has made a return to the Black Stars set-up after a long absence ahead of the team's final match of the qualifying round of Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

Wakaso, who has rediscovered his old form for Deportivo Alaves in the Spanish LaLiga, is back in the team after been yanked for the qualifiers against Congo and Uganda.

The former Celtic hard-tackling midfielder was snubbed from coach Kwesi Appiah's 30-man squad for the clash against Ethiopia and as well as the double header friendly clashes against USA and Mexico two months ago.

Coach Kwesi Appiah expounded that he handed the experienced midfielder a return to the team following injuries to key players but will use the match to assess whether the can be relied upon in the team's subsequent games.

Wakaso made his first training session on Tuesday ahead of the dead-rubber clash against the Pharaohs of Egypt that is slated to come off at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday November 12.
