Jeffrey Schlupp is taking consolation from Crystal Palace impressive showcase in their 2-0 home defeat to Liverpool on Monday night.
The Ghana international and his teammates put up a brave performance but were undone by goals from James Milner and Sadio Mane.
Schlupp was making his second straight start of the season and was replaced in the 83rd minute by Max Meyer.
James Milner gave them the lead with a penalty after Mohamed Salah was brought down by Mamadou Sakho in the closing seconds of the first half.
Sadio Mane wrapped up the points in injury time when he ran from his own half before rounding Wayne Hennessey to score.
Palace had young defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka sent off with 15 minutes left after he brought down Salah when the Egyptian was through on goal.
