President of New Edubiase United Abdul Salam Yakubu has called on government to come to the aid of Ghanaian clubs after the reforms to help them to develop Ghana Football.
Football administrators on several occasions have called government for assistance to help finance their clubs in order to reduces debt incurred by the clubs. Wages paid by football administrators to footballers in Ghana insufficient are woefully inadequate, which contributes to player exodus.
“Government must finance all clubs, take control and get involved in the day to day running of football in Ghana so that players will be well paid. If football clubs can’t still pay their players well after the reforms, then what is the need for cleaning up the system? it will be a waste of time," he told Asempa FM.
“Government must help us run Ghana football especially the Premier League which is a very integral part of Ghana Football.
