Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has been ignored by CAF for the Men's Coach of the year despite the progress of the Black Stars in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
The Ghanaian gaffer has been overlooked in what appears an assessment of his reign in the year under review.
The Black Stars only put their qualifying campaign for Cameroon 2019 back on track after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Ethiopia two weeks ago.
Mauritanian Corentin Martins, Florent Ibenge of AS Vita, Juan Carlos Garrido of Raja Club Athletic and Moine Chaabani of Esperance have been named in a 10-man shortlist.
Nicolas Dupuis who qualified Madagascar to their first ever Africa Cup of Nations tournament has also been named in the list as well as celebrated Al Ahly coach Patrice Cateron.
There are also places for ES Sétif coach Rachid Taoussi, Moroccan coach Herve Renard, Senegalese Aliou Cisse and Nigerian coach Gernot Rohr.
The Awards Gala, to honour footballers and officials who distinguished themselves during the year under review, will be held on Tuesday, 8 January 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.
