Ghana star Kevin-Prince Boateng will arrive on Barcelona on Tuesday (tomorrow) to seal the biggest surprise deal of the transfer window from Sassuolo.
The Spanish giants are on the verge of signing the former Portsmouth midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng on a six-month loan deal from his Italian club.
Boateng said goodbye to his Sassuolo team-mates at lunch today and he will arrive in Barcelona on Tuesday before undergoing his medical tomorrow to seal the deal.
The Ghana star has scored five goals in 15 appearances for Sassuolo, who he joined in the summer, and has previous experience in La Liga where he was more prolific.
In the 2016/17 season he scored 10 goals in the Spanish top tier playing for Las Palmas, although it still seems like an odd move for the Catalan giants.
Barcelona need a backup forward thanks to the departure of Munir to Sevilla and had previously been linked with Alvaro Morata and Fernando Llorente.
Boateng has previously had his issues and had his contract terminated at Schalke as a result of 'poor behaviour' with the same at Las Palmas for 'irreversible personal reasons.'
The German born Ghanaian did bring out a rap song last year, releasing 'King' under the alias PRIN$$ Boateng and for that alone Barcelona should sign him.
This is definitely the most bizarre signing in a while, maybe since Real Madrid loaned Julien Faubert from West Ham.
