GFA, betPawa to invest over GHghs4 million in Locker Room Bonus
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expanded its partnership with betPawa to extend the Locker Room Bonus initiative to the Malta Guinness Womens Premier League, committing over GH4 million ($380,843) to the scheme for the 2025/26 season.The Locker Room Bonus, already a hallmark of the betPawa Ghana Premier League, rewards players who feature in the matchday squad with GH400 each when their team wins. The incentive will now apply to both the mens and womens top-flight leagues from Matchday One of the upcoming season in October.GFA General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, called the move a major boost for womens football.This is a clear statement that womens football is a priority, and we are committed to investing in its growth, he said.betPawas Head of Local Marketing & CSR, Borah Ndanyungu, said the expansion reflects the brands commitment to increasing professionalism and excitement in Ghanas football.Captain of Womens FA Cup champions Faith Ladies, Beauty Abena Julius, speaking on behalf of players, praised the GFA and betPawa for extending the initiative to the womens league.The investment is expected to motivate players, improve competitiveness, and raise standards in both leagues.
