Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo has offered a detailed breakdown of his stunning solo strike against Fulham, describing it as a ‘perfectly executed’ goal following AFC Bournemouth’s 3-1 Premier League victory at the Vitality Stadium on Friday.
The in-form Black Stars attacker was the star of the night, scoring twice and providing an assist to inspire Bournemouth’s comeback win.
His opening goal was a moment of individual brilliance — picking up the ball on the left flank, beating two defenders, and slotting through Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno’s legs from a tight angle.

Reflecting on the goal, Semenyo explained his thought process in the build-up.
“I knew I was going to beat him [the defender]. I wanted to go to the byline and maybe cross the ball,” he told the BBC.
“I looked up and saw there were no options, so my next thought process was through the keeper’s legs, and I knew if I put it there, I would score. It was executed perfectly, so I’m happy with it.”
The 25-year-old’s brace took his tally to six goals and three assists in seven league appearances this season, reinforcing his status as one of the Premier League’s standout performers.
Semenyo will now join Ghana’s squad in Casablanca for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic on October 8.
