Former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp has hailed Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo as an âincredibly unique talent’ following another scintillating performance for Bournemouth in their 3-1 comeback win over Fulham on Friday night.
Semenyo was at the heart of the Cherries’ display, scoring twice and providing an assist as Andoni Iraola’s side climbed to second in the Premier League, just a point behind leaders Liverpool.
His dazzling form has made him indispensable, especially after Bournemouth lost several key players worth over £200 million during the summer transfer window.
“It was a hard night to play football, but it didn’t matter to Semenyo,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports.
“He just glides across that surface. An incredible, unique talent. Doesn’t matter if it’s right foot or left foot â makes no difference for him.”
The 25-year-old’s first goal was a moment of brilliance, beating two defenders on the left flank before driving to the byline and slotting the ball through Bernd Leno’s legs from a tight angle.
He then set up Justin Kluivert’s strike before sealing the win with a stoppage-time finish on the counter.
Semenyo now has six Premier League goals this season and has been directly involved in 12 goals since May â the highest in the league over that period.
