Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Danso has helped Austria to book qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Austrian defender of Ghanaian descent was in action for his national team on Tuesday night when they hosted Bosnia and Herzegovina in their final match in the World Cup qualifiers.
Having started the contest, Kevin Danso was solid at the back, lasting the entire 90 minutes in a game that ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
The result saw Austria topping Group H at the end of the group phase of the European qualifiers with 19 points from eight matches.
As Group H winners, Kevin Danso and his Austrian teammates will be playing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 27-year-old earned his debut Austria call-up in May 2024 and was subsequently named in their squad for the 2024 European Championship.
Although he was eligible to play for Ghana’s Black Stars at the time, he chose Austria, having represented the European country at various youth levels in the past.
