The continent-wide excitement ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations continues to grow as the “Destination Morocco 2025 - Land of Football” caravan journeys across Africa.
The initiative brings together journalists, influencers, content creators, football personalities and communication professionals who are travelling by road to Morocco to celebrate African football and promote unity among nations.
The group arrived in Ghana earlier this week, having begun their expedition in Benin and crossed through Togo. On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, they interacted with the media at a briefing held at the Fiesta Royale Hotel in Accra, where they provided updates on their travels and highlighted the purpose of their mission. Participants represent several countries qualified for the tournament, including Nigeria, Guinea, Uganda and South Africa.
Many members of the travelling team described Ghana as one of the most memorable destinations so far, pointing to the lively atmosphere in Accra, local cuisine such as jollof rice, and the sense of pride citizens display toward the national game. Their experience in Ghana reinforced the spirit of African solidarity that the project aims to amplify.
The caravan is led by organisers who see the road trip as a platform that supports Africa’s growing digital creative space while strengthening cooperation between nations through sport. The initiative also underscores the increasing influence of content creation and storytelling in football promotion, particularly as the continent prepares for its biggest competition.
The next phases of the journey will see the group travel through Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Senegal and Mauritania before finally arriving in Morocco on December 20, one day before the start of AFCON 2025.
