England youth international Darko Gyabi has emerged as a key figure in Hull City’s impressive turnaround in the Championship.
Just seven months after narrowly avoiding relegation on goal difference, Hull now sit firmly in the top half of the table and within touching distance of the promotion spots.
The midfielder, who is of Ghanaian descent, joined Hull in September and has quickly become a valuable contributor in midfield, helping stabilise the team under Sergej JakiroviÄ. The 21-year-old says the newfound progress is the result of unity and hard work within the squad.
“We’re consistently working hard in training and trying to win the games and put on great performances,” he told RG. “The plan from the manager, from the staff, and from the players is all coming together.”
Gyabi remains cautious but confident that Hull can continue pushing upward.
“We definitely have players who can challenge for promotion, but we have to focus on what’s going on now,” he added.
