Belgium international of Ghanaian descent Jeremy Doku has been sidelined until next year following an injury setback.
Doku, who has been in an outstanding form for Manchester City in the current campaign missed the sides Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
However, manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed the unavailability of the enterprising winger for the EFL Cup quarterfinal clash against Brentford on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
According to Guardiola, Doku will not feature again this year and is expected to return to action for the Citizens in January, when the side take on Sunderland in the Premier League.
“Jérémy Doku will be out again. I don’t know when he will return⦠maybe, I think, around the New Year, maybe Sunderland, for sure,” Guardiola said.
The Belgian-Ghanaian pacey winger has been one of Manchester City’s standout performers this season, racking up 22 appearances, scoring four goals and delivering five assists across the period.
His absence is expected to affect the Premier League, as they gear up for a packed December schedule.
