Black Stars winger Joseph Paintsil has insisted that the playing playing will do everything possible to do their best in the group phase games in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
Ghana, who are making their fifth Mundial appearance, have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
After exiting at the group phase in 2014 and 2022 in Brazil and Germany, respectively, Paintsil vowed that they would do everything possible to play for the country.
The LA Galaxy forward also stressed that it will be an amazing experience with Ghana playing against elite nations like Croatia and England.
“We have to give everything, especially for Ghanaians and the badge," Paintsil told Citi Sports.
"It’s going to be an amazing group stage for us with playing against England, Croatia; we will do whatever we have to do, but we will leave the rest to God, and we will see what will happen at the tournament,” he added.
After winning the MLS Cup with the Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2024 season, Paintsil missed significant time in the 2025 season due to injury as the Galaxy missed the playoffs and finished third in the Leagues Cup.
In 25 games, the 27-year-old scored 10 goals and added two assists.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, face England on June 23 in Boston, and close the group stage against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.
